Letter from the President

Hello, my name is Courtney Lester and I am the Chapter President for Upsilon Beta. I joined my chapter in the fall of 2014. I grew up in Tennessee and chose to go to college in Arkansas without knowing a single person in Fort Smith. It was a big risk, but I added to that risk by going through formal recruitment. Throughout recruitment, the women of Alpha Omicron Pi consistently were genuine and welcoming all three nights. They helped make my decision an easy one and on bid day, I felt so privileged to see their name on my bid card.

Fast forward three years and I am now the President of my chapter and a stronger individual. Throughout the last few years, I have had the opportunity to serve my chapter in a variety of leadership positions such as New Member Educator, Panhellenic Delegate, and Standards Committee member. As President, I was given the opportunity to travel to Tennessee and Washington DC for leadership conferences. My positions have taught me a wide range of business and networking skills that I will be able to utilize in the future. The women of Alpha Omicron Pi have encouraged me to not only better myself as a student, but as a person. They have been a constant system of support and encouragement.

The Upsilon Beta Chapter strives to make an impact on our community in a number of ways. Academics are our number one priority, we encourage our members to hold scholarship to the highest degree. Our service efforts help aid organizations such as the Arthritis Foundation and Sebastian County Humane Society. We welcome you to browse this website to learn more about our individual chapter and organization as a whole. If you have any questions, we would be more than happy to answer them.

Alpha Love and All of Mine,

Courtney Lester
